The goal I had in taking this course was to improve my picture taking skills. I believe I did improved the way I took pictures from the beginning of the year to now. Taking photography this year helped me learn how to make a picture more appealing to the eye (such as the rule of thirds, point of view, rule of simplicity, leading lines, framing, pattern and texture, and asymmetrical and symmetric balance) so in total I am glad that I was able to take this course.

In the beginning of the course I struggled with getting the right angles and perfect lighting. It seemed like I started to improve with my picture taking towards the middle of the semester but the school closing down did not help much. I do not have access to a professional camera that would allow me to adjust the light exposure. The best camera I own is on my phone which I find it very hard to take good quality photos on. On the upside, the shut down of school gave me inspiration for some of my photos. Like our quarantined Easter.

This week in class I learned a lot about the rules of composition, specifically the rule of thirds. For the rule of thirds you have to line your object up to one of the four specific points. The four points appeal most pleasing to the eye, making your picture better to look at and easier to understand.
